Mrs. Lisa Vorreiter
Lisa Vorreiter knew since middle school that she wanted to be a high school drama teacher. She received a theatre scholarship to attend the University of South Florida. At the time, USF did not offer a theatre education program so on top of theatre courses, she also had to take courses to earn a degree in English Education, the only degree at the time that would open the door to teaching high school theatre. Mrs. Vorreiter has been teaching theatre and dance in Hillsborough County for 24 years. Professional awards include 1999 Robinson High School Teacher of the Year, 2002 Alonso High School Teacher of the Year, 1987 Sallie Mae Hillsborough County Beginning Teacher of the Year, 2004 Director’s Chair Award from the South Florida Arts Council and the 2003 Coca-Cola Distinguished Teacher in the Arts Award. Mrs. Vorreiter has directed many shows in her 25 year career and has many former students currently working as professional dancers, singers and actors across the country. In addition to teaching high school, Mrs. Vorreiter is also on the Education Staff at the Patel Conservatory/Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and recently directed productions of FAME and Cinderella.
