Acting - Course Description: The student will be introduced to the foundations of acting through the use of exercises, assignments, prepared monologue, scene work, play attendance and written assignments.
Objectives:
- To enhance the actor’s awareness of his imagination.
- To introduce the actor to the foundations of acting and character building.
- To make clear the importance of the skills of observation, concentration, and listening in the art of acting.
- To aid the actor in the discovery of his own body and voice as acting tools.
- To enhance the actor’s appreciation of the art of theatre as a collaborative art form.
- To introduce the actor to basic theatre terminology.

Voice and Diction- Course Description: The purpose of this course is to enable students to participate in varied aspects of musical theatre, with special attention to the fundamentals of voice production, stage movement, acting, characterization, dance and technical aspects of a musical production. The student will be introduced to the foundations of musical theatre through the use of exercises, assignments, prepared musical selections, play attendance and written assignments. This class may require, as outlined in the Florida Department of Education Sunshine State Standards, students to participate in extra rehearsals and performances beyond the school day.

Improvisation - Course Description: The purpose of this course is to enable students to demonstrate basic knowledge and skills related to improvisation. The content will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Theatre and improvisation terminology
- History
- Improvisation as an art form
- Elements of improvisation
- Acting techniques
- Scenario development
- Audience etiquette
- Career opportunities

Stage Makeup - Course Description: The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop knowledge and skills necessary for the correct use of make-up in theatrical productions.

- Functions of makeup
- Theatre terminology and technical vocabulary
- Historical developments
- Tools and materials
- Design principles
- Procedures and application techniques
- Hygiene and health concerns

Comprehensive Theatre - Comprehensive Theatre is our COMPANY class, also known as ENCORE!. You must be recommended for OR audition to get into the class. This class is a production-oriented class and after-school participation is mandatory. The competition play each year will be cast and produced through this class.
